Friday's route...

...if the weather improves!
Link
Starting from Staveley, just north of Kendal. Actually, to be specific, starting from Wilfs cafe,

the best cakery south of Keswick, where I may just partake of a breakfast muffin - purely in the interest of skating fuel of course.
The first 4 miles is cycle track alongside the main road into the Lakes: hilly-ish but looks smooth.
Into Windermere briefly before heading out onto really quiet country lanes.

7 miles back to Staveley along undulating lanes. Not sure about the quality of surface, cattlegrids etc, but there's only one way to find out! Having encountered cattlegrids on my first recce around Ambleside

last week, I know that they're fine as long as there is a hand rail to hold on to -
without, well there may be some crawling involved. Let's hope the lanes are very, very quiet.

Must buy a helmet...
